IMPORTANT NOTES
|
Swain Brook splits the camping area into two sections. The tent sites are located on the southwest side of the brook and the trailer sites are located on the northeast side.

The tenting area is more wooded than the trailer area, as we did not have to lay water, sewer or electric lines. Although there is a water spigot in the tenting area, the sites do not have hook-ups. Tent campers that require water and electric are permitted to camp on the trailer side. All sites within the trailer area have at least water and electric (30 amp service). We do allow pop-ups to use a few of the tent sites that offer easier access, provided they do not release gray water. All sites come with fire pits and picnic tables.
The trailer sites are comprised of three levels of fill with a coating of crushed gravel. The sites are generally level, medium to large in size and have good road accessibility. All of the sites are back-ins with the septic hook-up to the right side of the site.
All tent sites are comprised of three levels of fill; the first level is dirt when the site is first leveled to grade with a bull dozer. The second level is bank-run gravel trucked in from a local gravel pit (this is for drainage). The third level is twelve to twenty cubic yards of sand to help campers avoid sleeping on rocks. Although some rocks push through the sand over time, most of the site area remains soft and comfortable. There are no stumps or tree roots within the sites, but there is an on-going battle with wild grass.

This is one of our most private tent sites. Park at the end of the road and walk up to your site. The nature park is to the left and rear of the site, with Swain Brook approximately 20' below and to the right; other tent sites are below to the front. This site is referred to as the "Royal Site". |
